Funckarma - Psar Dymog [2009]

The first ambient release from Funcken brothers. The engineering and production is excellent. Lot's of orbs getting tossed around with varying volume/direction. Great headphone music.

M.J. Harris & Martyn Bates - The Murder Ballads [1998]

A personal favorite, but recommended only to fans of neofolk. Mick Harris (Napalm Death, Lull, Scorn, Somnific Flux) collaborating with Martyn Bates. The three albums (Drift, Passages, Incest) were made between 1994 and 1998 and put into a collection. Harris' eerie but calming ambient matched with poetry sung in a meter I can't pick out. Each track is a story of something terrible but sung in a lullaby fashion. Standout tracks like The Two Brothers and Long Lankin sound like something from medieval or renaissance times. Truly strange music.
