Wow, I feel for you man. Maybe switch it up this time around. I use Lacie 1tb's and have never had any problems with the 4 of them I have.
I've also heard rave reviews of the G drive. Sure it's expensive, but it's the best thing going right now for consumer externals.

that looks nice. I'll probably get one later this month, thanks! I recently reformatted my main hard drive and reinstalled my OS, so I lost a lot of really hard to find stuff. It will be good to get a fresh start though
I'm so paranoid about losing my collection that I keep 2 x 1tb externals with my most important music/stuff in a bank safety deposit box and use that as offsite backup (I swap them out monthly). Lots of rare stuff I never want to lose. Like I said, I feel for you man.
